What you get from a Digital Audit
A Digital Audit takes about a week and ends with a written roadmap you keep. Here’s what happens along the way, what you get, and what comes after.
Why start with an audit
Before anyone builds anything, you need to know what to change first. Without that, quotes for software are hard to compare, because each one answers a different question. The audit answers the question first: where your business loses time and money today, and what to fix in which order.
What happens, step by step
- Intro call (30 minutes)We hear what you want to fix and agree on what the audit covers.
- Walkthrough (about half a day)We go through a normal working day with you and your staff, on site or by video. We follow a booking, an order or a payment from start to finish and note every place it gets typed in twice.
- Review of your toolsWe look at the software, spreadsheets, devices and accounts you already pay for, and check which of them can stay.
- Roadmap meeting (one hour)We present what we found and the plan, answer your questions, and hand over the written roadmap.
From the intro call to the roadmap meeting usually takes about a week. It can take a little longer if the walkthrough has to wait for one of your quieter days.
What you get
- A map of how work moves through your business todayWith the slow and error-prone steps marked.
- A roadmap in priority orderWhat to change first, second and third, and why.
- For each stepWhether existing software can handle it or something needs building, with a rough cost range and a time estimate.
- Quick winsYou can act on straight away, some of them free.
The roadmap is yours. Carry it out with us, with another team or on your own.
What it costs to start
After the intro call, we give you a fixed quote for the audit, based on how many locations and processes it covers. If you start building any step from the roadmap with us within three months, you don’t pay for the audit. If we come to you for the walkthrough, travel costs are added to the quote.
What we need from you
Nothing formal. Have the person who knows each process available during the walkthrough, and give us access to the tools you use.
What it isn’t
- It isn’t a sales pitch for custom softwareWe recommend building only where it pays off. If an existing app does the job, the roadmap says so and names it.
- It isn’t always neededIf you already have a clear specification and just need someone to build it, get in touch and we’ll quote the build directly.
Your data
We only look at what you show us. We’ll sign an NDA if you need one, and we don’t keep copies of your data after the audit.
What happens next
If you want us to build it, we turn the first step of the roadmap into a phase with a fixed price. Once it’s live, we host, maintain and support it, and start the next step when you’re ready. You’re under no obligation to continue.
If you’d rather build with someone else, that works too. We write the roadmap so any competent team can work from it.
If you build with us, the people who run your audit are the same people who build and support what comes out of it, so nothing gets lost between the plan and the work.
